Children and staff have been spreading festive cheer across their schools and into the community as part of our yearly celebrations.

From festive performances, sponsored runs and collecting donations, all our school have found their own unique ways to enjoy the run up to the Christmas holidays.

At Great Sankey High School, the orchestra, choir and leads of their upcoming show 'Annie', performed for audiences at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub.  Students also brought in donations of food and gifts for the Warrington Youth Zone Christmas Appeal, which will be distributed to families across the town.

Wearing bright elf hats, pupils at Chapelford Village Primary School raised more than £1,000 for St Rocco’s Hospice by completing a sponsored lap of the school grounds as part of this year’s Elf Run. Friends and families were also invited to listen to the children sing while enjoying a mince pie and a drink during this year’s carol services in the school playground. The school choir also took their music to Arplemere Care Home’s Christmas event to perform for residents.

Burtonwood Community Primary School took their festivities out into the community to visit The Old Vicarage Care Home.  The school choir performed a selection of Christmas carols, bringing smiles to the residents and creating a lovely Christmas atmosphere. The children also joined in with the annual church service at St Michael's and All Angels Church.

At Bradshaw Primary School children welcomed local nurseries and childminders into school for their final dress rehearsal of ‘Prickly Hay’. Reception and Key Stage One performed beautifully, sang loudly and danced perfectly for their little audience before performing for friends and family.

The children at Park Road Community Primary School also took their Christmas celebrations outside with a very Festive Forest School. Children enjoyed time outside the classroom as well as toasted Marshmallows and hot chocolate.

Year 6 pupil Phoebe was also the winner of this year’s Christmas Card design for Sarah Hall MP .  Children across the town were given the opportunity to design the new card, which will be to distributed to the community and be seen by the Prime Minister.

At Westbrook Old Hall Primary School, children impressed their families and friends with year group Carol Services. The children sang a variety of well-known carols and festive songs to bring some festive cheer to the mornings.

Children have also been generously donating to the school’s toy appeal which has been created to help families this Christmas. Donations will now be distributed over the festive period.

Together our schools have spread plenty of festive spirit to their community in their own unique ways. We wish everyone from friends, family, staff and children a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone across the Trust.
