New Governors Needed to Help Shape the Future of Education

Schools across our Trust are looking for people to take on the vital role of school governor and help shape the future of education for young people.
Omega Multi-Academy Trust currently needs committed, enthusiastic and community-minded individuals to join its Local Governing Bodies, working with schools in Warrington.
As well as being rewarding, School Governor volunteers can develop valuable skills in leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving.
It is also an opportunity to expand your network, meet people from different backgrounds and professions, and gain insights into the education system. Many volunteers find the experience of being a governor enriches their own careers and lives as they become part of the wider community.
While no specific qualifications are required, a school governor should have a passion for education and a willingness to give time and energy to support schools and their pupils.
We are looking for people who are:
- Confident, curious, challenging, and creative.
- Committed to ensuring all children get the best from their education.
- Able to dedicate time and effort to understand a school, attend meetings, and review documents.
- Comfortable asking challenging questions and analysing responses.
- Open to new ideas and willing to learn.
- Interested in working with people and being part of a team.
- Proficient in literacy and numeracy.
- Eager to give back to the local community.
Governors play a crucial part in the life of a school, working alongside headteachers and senior leaders, supporting their leadership and holding them to account, to set priorities, monitor progress, and make sure that children receive the best possible education.
The role involves strategic decision-making, reviewing school performance, ensuring safeguarding, and engaging with parents, staff and pupils.
Anyone interested can find more details and apply via the Omega Multi-Academy Trust website: Governance Recruitment | Omega Multi-Academy Trust. Alternatively, you can arrange an informal chat with our Director of Governance by emailing enquiries@omegamat.co.uk.
