Young performers from across Omega Multi-Academy Trust took to the stage  for this year’s MAT Factor.

The annual event brings together schools from across the Trust to celebrate creativity, performance and community spirit.

Held at Great Sankey High School, the evening showcased a wide range of talent from primary and secondary pupils. Friends, families and staff filled the venue to support the performers, who delivered a memorable night of music, drama and dance.

The event continues to highlight the strength of the Trust’s school communities and the value of opportunities that allow young people to express themselves through the performing arts.

This year’s category winners were:
•    Years 7 to 9: Amelie
•    Years 10 to 13: Kirsty
•    Overall Winner: Georgie

Chapelford Village Primary School were crowned winners of the primary category. Led by Miss Garty, a group of pupils from Years 4 to 6 presented a performance commemorating the end of the Second World War, in recognition of the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

Their performance began with a reflective song, I’ll Remember, followed by an excerpt from Winston Churchill’s speech announcing the end of the war. A brass section and flag display added energy to the piece, leading into a final celebration dance to Can’t Stop the Feeling!

Judges praised the group’s coordination, use of props, and the clear transition from remembrance to celebration. One judge highlighted the “perfect timing” between singing, brass and dance, and the visible enthusiasm and confidence shown by the children.

The MAT Factor is becoming a real highlight of the year and a fantastic event that brings our Trust community together to celebrate the talents of our young people.

A huge thank you to all the pupils, staff, families and supporters who made this year’s event such a success.
