We are proud to celebrate the achievements of Year 11 students at both Alsop High School and Great Sankey High School, as they received their GCSE results today. Despite the challenges faced in recent years, students at both schools demonstrated outstanding commitment and resilience, achieving results that will pave the way for their future success.
At Great Sankey High School, the atmosphere was one of excitement and pride as students gathered to collect their results. Mrs. Kane, Deputy Headteacher, reflected on the morning, saying, “We are extremely proud of the achievements of all of our students who have shown great resilience and determination to succeed. Despite a national decrease in grades, the class of 2024 has excelled, and their achievements will enable them to successfully progress to the next stage of their education." She also expressed delight at the large number of students choosing to continue their studies at the school’s sixth form, Barrow Hall College.
Headteacher Gary Evans also shared his congratulations, remarking, “I would like to offer my congratulations to the class of 2024 and the team of dedicated staff and supportive parents/carers who have guided them through the last five years. We wish our young people every success for the future.”
Newly appointed Executive Principal, James Kerfoot, praised the efforts of both students and staff at Alsop High School commenting, “We are thrilled to see so many of our students not only celebrating their successes but also preparing to take their next steps, whether that be further study or apprenticeships.”
We extend our congratulations to all the Year 11 students at Alsop High School and Great Sankey High School. We are immensely proud of their achievements and the dedication they have shown throughout their time in school. As these students prepare for the next chapter of their education, we wish them every success and look forward to seeing many of them return for their post-16 studies.
