Great Sankey's Physical Education (PE) department is overjoyed to announce its exceptional achievement, securing a top spot among the best schools for sports in the entire country according to the prestigious 2023 annual competition by School Sport magazine. Outshining 35,000 schools across 20 different sports, Great Sankey proudly stands as the 5th best state school and an impressive 18th overall.
This recognition comes on the heels of an outstanding year of sporting triumphs, with highlights including the remarkable 3rd National Rugby title and a Northwest double for the Year 11 students. Year 10s also clinched Northwest Rugby success, while the Year 7s achieved English Schools' football glory.
Head of PE, Mr.Garry, expressed high praise at the news, emphasizing the exceptional dedication and excellence demonstrated by the students.
