Burtonwood Community Primary School’s Year 5 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable morning of football as they took part in a tournament hosted at the Liverpool Academy.

The visit offered pupils the chance to play on the academy’s pitches, providing inspiration, motivation and a memorable glimpse into a professional sporting environment.

Competing against eight other Warrington schools, the team played five matches throughout the morning. After a warm‑up friendly to settle into their surroundings, the pupils went on to take part in four competitive games where they consistently showed teamwork, determination and a brilliant attitude.

Throughout the tournament, the team worked hard, supported one another and demonstrated resilience in every match. Their effort and positive attitude were clear to see, and they never gave up.

The morning ended on a high as Year 5 took part in the Liverpool Club Championships final and were crowned winners. It was a brilliant achievement and a great reward for their teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship.

The tournament was organised by Freedom Football and proved to be a fantastic morning of football for all involved.
