Outstanding Behaviour and a Culture of Respect
The report highlights pupils’ “exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning,” starting from the early years. Inspectors noted that clear expectations have been established by leaders and applied consistently by staff, creating a “calm, orderly atmosphere” where pupils are fully focused on learning and “feel safe”.
Older pupils were celebrated for being “superb role models for younger pupils”, helping younger children learn how to build positive relationships and manage their own behaviour effectively.
Strong Support for All Pupils
Inclusion and “consistent high-quality support” for disadvantaged pupils were identified as real strengths. Staff are recognised for their “impressive knowledge of pupils’ individual needs”, using this understanding to provide tailored support that helps children flourish.
Leaders were praised for being “firm advocates for the most vulnerable pupils” and for making highly effective use of pupil premium funding to remove barriers and enhance learning opportunities.
High-Quality Leadership and Governance
Ofsted found leadership at both the school and trust level to be highly effective. Governors and school leaders “understand what it is like to be a pupil at this school” and “take strategic decisions based on deep knowledge of the community they serve”.
The inspection also highlighted the school and trust’s investment in staff development, “building high levels of expertise across the staff team” noting that all teachers—including those early in their careers—receive carefully planned professional learning that enhances classroom practice, and finding “Staff are just as proud to work at this school as pupils are to attend it”.

The report praises Park Road’s personal development programme as a standout feature, with leaders “deliberately extending pupils experiences well beyond the curriculum” helping pupils understand both themselves and the wider world. Inspectors noted pupils’ deep knowledge of how to stay safe physically and mentally, respect for different beliefs, and understanding of equality and tolerance.
A rich extra-curricular offer—including sports competitions, creative arts and horticulture—ensures pupils have opportunities to explore talents and interests. The school’s community-focused activities, such as hosting a community café and organising an annual flower show, were also highlighted as unique strengths.
