The Omega Multi-Academy Trust ‘CEO Award for Staff and Student Excellence’, is in place to recognise individual staff members, who in addition to performing their normal duties with excellence, have gone above and beyond or provided outstanding contribution and for students who demonstrate one of more of our core values or have applied themselves very positively.

The CEO Award is presented monthly to the winners, by Christian Wilcocks, who personally selects from the nominations across the Trust.

Christian is keen to read all about the nominees from our Headteachers as he understands that across the Trust all our staff, students and children work incredibly hard, make such significant contributions and are very dedicated.

This month’s student winners are Finley, Year 1 at Burtonwood Community Primary School and Ethan Year 9 at Great Sankey High School.

Burtonwood Headteacher, Heather Muttock, nominated Finley because “Finley always presents as happy, engaged and enthusiastic to learn, despite facing some very challenging circumstances. He is a pleasure to teach and to interact with.”

Gary Evans, Headteacher at Great Sankey High School, nominated Ethan as inspiration.  Gary states that “Ethan has a disability and is about to undergo an operation which has many risks. In recent years, he gone through traumatic experiences however, his optimism and positive mental attitude is unbelievable. He shows resilience on a daily basis and every time I speak to him, he makes me smile. He was one of the first students to approach me when I started in September and he made me feel very welcome. I have total admiration for his outlook and his positivity”

This month’s staff award was Maintenance Officer at Burtonwood Primary School, Nigel Johnson.  Nigel has been engaged in supporting two other schools within the Trust, whilst also carrying out his usual duties at Burtonwood. Nigel also had the added complication of managing a major building project on the premises for a number of months.

We look forward to celebrating the success of our colleagues and the children within our schools in the coming months and years.
