Secondary Teaching Assistant

A desirable element to the role is experience or skills in supporting students for whom English is an additional language and skills in supporting children with reading/phonics.
PURPOSE
To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children in The EAL room, Library. SEND BASE or mainstream lessons under the direction/instruction of our ELA coordinator, SENDCO teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques.
To provide specific intervention and support according to the individual needs of the pupil(s) both within and outside of the classroom. In particular there will be part of the role specializing in supporting with initial testing, and support for children for whom English is an additional language.

37 Hours per week. 8-4 Monday-Friday
