Welcome to Omega Multi-Academy Trust. Omega Multi-Academy Trust was established in January 2018 and is a cross-phase community of schools, providing a holistic education from 4 to 19 years of age: a system that provides for the whole child for the whole 14 years.
Our Trust consists of two large high schools, Great Sankey High School and Alsop High School and their associated purpose built sixth forms, Barrowhall College and Alsop Sixth Form. Our four primary schools, all based in the Warrington area, are Burtonwood Primary School, Chapelford Village Primary School, Park Road Primary School and Westbrook Old Hall Primary School.
Omega’s ethos is people-centred, based on community and continuity. Our overarching ambition is to provide the best school experience possible for every child and to be the best employer we can be. We work hard to achieve this. Whilst schools in the Trust retain much of their unique nature, our ten central values place the students at the heart of education and ensure a common direction and purpose. We focus school improvement around three key strands: Culture & Ethos, Curriculum & Teaching and Organisational Effectiveness. These are underpinned by our self-evaluation processes which support effective Quality Assurance and Accountability.
We currently care for over 5000 pupils and we and provide school leaders the time and facilities to prioritise children and their learning as the Trust provides its schools with a range of central services, including finance, human resources, marketing, estates management, information communication technology and safeguarding.
The Trust holds sponsorship status, enabling it to support schools issued with academy orders in conjunction with the Department for Education and the Regional Schools Commissioner. As a National Support School, Great Sankey High School has a successful track record and commitment to School to School Support (S2SS), working with others to develop on their school improvement journey.
We employ over 500 staff providing excellent career development paths, with a range of leadership programmes. There is no school improvement without high quality improvement opportunities for our people. Through the Omega Teaching Partnership (OTP) we provide professional development which is strategically driven and delivers continuous improvement at all levels, supporting our philosophy that regardless of experience, we can all 'get better every day’. The OTP builds on the extensive experience and work of our former Teaching School to deliver high quality teacher training and development programmes designed to support the very best talent across the MAT and beyond. Work is supported through national and local partnerships and founded on the latest research which underpins our focus on the quality of education, learning and improvement.
